 Chinook Stables is located at the foot of Thorn Hill in beautiful Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada. We have been in operation since 1992 and on the web since 1997! Run by Bob and Darlene Strain the farm has focused on Arabian, part Arabian, and Paint horses. Over the years many foals have been born and several have even been shared with the world via live foal cams, and this year we are proud to bring our foal cams back with TWO live foalings for 2010 (just click on the Foal Cam link in the navigation bar at the top of the page). In 2008 we moved to our current location in Maple Ridge. Over the past two years we have carved our horse haven from the uncleared land around our home. It has been a daunting undertaking but worth every bit of the effort. Being on the foot of Thorn Hill made it imperative to have excellent drainage and footing to deal with the mountain run-off and TW Excavating did a fantastic job with the layout and water flow requirements, we have dry footing all year 'round! We designed and constructed an eight 12 X12 stall barn with large tack room and secured feed area, additional hay storage was created by cantilevering the second floor monitor by four feet, which gave us 1000 square feet of hay storage. Crusher dust paddocks with in&out access provides great freedom for the horses and three acre pasture allows foraging and room to move. TW Excavating also laid out our 60 X 120 sand riding arena as well.
